Greenhouse Skirting Film / Apron Film

A Greenhouse Skirting film is a strip of material placed along the lower boundary of a greenhouse (along the walls or base) to act as a protective barrier.

• It protects the wall base from mechanical damage, wind drafts, pests.

• It helps with micro-climate control: reducing heat loss in winter, controlling wind infiltration, reflect/insulate the lower portion of the greenhouse.

• It lets diffused light in (depending on material) so the border rows of plants get better light, less direct harsh sun.

• Size Available - 1.5 Mtr. x 100 Mtr.
• GSM Available - 140 GSM & 160 GSM

• Material: Often HDPE woven fabric laminated on both sides with PE (polyethylene). 
• GSM (weight/thickness): E.g., 140 GSM, 160 GSM are typical in India. Thicker means stronger but also costlier.
• Width & length: Width options might be 1.5 m, 2.1 m etc. Length rolls of 50 m, 100 m, etc.
• Light diffusion / transmission: Some allow diffused light at the base (50 % diffusion, etc) so less direct harsh sunlight.
• UV-stabilised / UV life: Because it’s exposed over time, UV resistance is important. Some mention 4-year UV warranty.
• Breaking strength / tear resistance: Good for durability against wind/handling.
• Colour / Reflectivity: White or light colour tends to diffuse light; sometimes reflecting helps in warmer climates.
• Installation compatibility: How you fix it (clips, stitching with insect nets, etc). Some note that the film is stitchable with nets.
